Friday 10 July 2020

A big thank you to AFG member and horticultural expert Anne Ellin who has this morning tidied and re-planted our flower tubs situated on the fence behind Wetherspoons, Aberystwyth Railway Station, (funded by Aberystwyth Town Council).  Also, a thank you to AFG committee member Mel Burgess who regularly waters and looks after them throughout the year.  They’re looking great!
In view of the easing of lockdown restrictions in Wales and looking carefully at the current situation here in Aberystwyth, AFG Committee are still of the opinion that we have to put the health and safety of our members first.  So, for now we think it best to err on the side of caution and not make any plans for our members to meet up until we are certain it is safe to do so.  We of course miss you all and hope that you are all keeping well.  Stay safe!  Love and best wishes Aislinn x

Notice

Given the current situation with Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) and taking into consideration recent advice from the NHS regarding social distancing, in particular anyone over 70 years old or with underlying health problems, Aberystwyth Friendship Group Committee have unanimously agreed to put the health and safety of our members first and cancel all future meetings, outings and events until further notice.  This decision was not taken lightly as the Government’s advice to self isolate is totally contradictory to what we stand for in getting together as often as we can to combat loneliness and isolation.  We are hopeful that these measures will only be in place for a short period of time, and we will of course keep you fully updated via our Facebook Page and Blog.
