It's very Christmassy here this morning in Tesco Community Room with members of AFG Arts and Crafts Group.

Members of AFG enjoyed Christmas lunch in Harry's today. Many thanks to the hard working staff and to Jez Danks for the entertainment. Good food and company, a lovely warm friendly atmosphere made it so very special. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all and look forward to seeing you for lunch in M&S on Friday 3rd January.

A big thank you from members of AFG to Meinir Jenkins and Gweneira Raw-Rees from Aberystwyth Town Council for organising a coffee morning in Starling Cloud and talk about the success of Kronberg Skate Park.

54 AFG members plus our Mid Wales Travel bus driver John Howard who is getting married today, had a day out at Portmeirion. Although the weather forecast was pretty grim it seems we yet again managed to avoid any downpours and everyone enjoyed exploring the Italianate village. Next outing is to Castell Henllys on 12th September, hope to see you then! 

We're in Ego Magazine this month. Back in May Aberystwyth Town Council gave AFG a cheque to go towards the upkeep of our flower tubs in the railway station.

Even though it rained members of AFG had a lovely day out in Shrewsbury on Thursday 13th June.  Some preferred to do a bit of shopping in the town while others joined an organised tour of Shrewsbury Abbey.  Everyone enjoyed a coffee break at Charlies, Coed y Dinas and lunch at The Peach Tree Restaurant. Tonight at a ceremony held in Aber Town Council office, Baker Street our Chair Margaret Woodliff accepted a cheque for £120 from Aberystwyth Mayor, Councillor Mari Turner.  The money will go towards the restocking and general upkeep of AFG flower tubs in Yr Hen Orsaf.  

Members of AFG enjoyed a day out at Corris Craft Centre.  On their way home they decided to stop off in Machynlleth to do a bit of shopping and have afternoon tea, all on a lovely warm sunny day.  Next outing: Shrewsbury Abbey, 13th June, leave Aberystwtyth 9.30, call in at Charlies Coed y Dinas.  

Members of AFG enjoyed a day out visiting the abbey ruins at Strata Florida, then lunch at Y Talbot in Tregaron followed by entainment from Jez Danks.  Yet again another lovely sunny day, we've been so lucky and blessed with good weather for every trip since the first one to Portmeirion back in July 2016!  Let's hope it continues! 

Today in Morlan AFG members enjoyed lunch together and listening to Mark Williams telling us all about what he's been up to these past couple of years. Thank you Mark, hope to see you again soon, and good luck for the future from us all!
